At Saul Junction!
We are currently moored on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal just below
Sandfield Swing Bridge at Saul Junction a few hundred yards from where 'Alnwick'
was built - that was almost twelve years ago. Saul Festival was great fun
and it was nice meeting other enthusiastic owners of R W Davis boats - there
were more than a dozen 'Northwich Trader Class' and the earlier 'Heritage
Class'vessels, all smartly lined up, in front of the yard.
We had hoped to get our boat nicely smartened up before we left Fenny Compton but we just didn't manage it. Nevertheless, it didn't look too bad in the parade of boats on the Saturday. We are planning to stay at Saul for a couple of weeks in order to prepare for the next leg of our journey which will include navigating part of the Bristol Channel between Sharpness and Avonmouth!
