Although the Fossdyke is reputedly one of the oldest canals in England its long straight sections
are not exactly inspiring and we were quite pleased when we reached Lincoln and tied-up near
the University just after midday on Jane's birthday, 3rd June 2009. Most of the afternoon was
spent shopping and we met up with our friends, John and Ann East for a meal in the evening.

On Thursday, 4th June 2009, John gave us a guided tour of some of Lincoln's tourist attractions
and took the above photograph of us standing in front of Lincoln Cathedral.
